A controlled file should have a record beyond the download link

When a PDF is uploaded through the protected publication workflow, the system can create integrity data and a stable public information page while preserving the original document as a controlled asset.

Public metadata page

Title, issuer, version, dates, related institutional page and publication status remain visible at a stable URL.

Integrity fingerprint

Secured files can be registered with SHA-256, a document reference and signature identifier.

Version history

Future replacements can retain previous controlled files instead of erasing institutional memory.
